چکیده
Abstract Aims This paper examines the water dynamics of a coastal dune plant community, addressing spatial and seasonal variations. We aimed to detect patterns use by plants at community level according their distribution across gradient from beach inland. Methods Five sites were established: upper beach, embryo-dune, slack, foredune, Eight perennial species collected seasonally analyse isotopic composition potential. Soil samples 3 depths, groundwater, atmosphere, obtained determine sources. Results The Inland foredune communities, Retama , Juniperus Helichrysum showed most stable signal throughout year. On contrary, abundant on slack ( Ammophila Achillea Polygonum ) highest variability. Water deficit decreased dependence shallow mid-soil layers along beach-inland gradient. Beach embryo-dune less negative leaf potential values than other positions in Conclusions Three factors mark proportion sources used for vegetation vegetation: composition, distance sea, seasonality. Coastal exhibited species-specific response uptake that was modified its location From inland, communities slight progressive increase deeper layers. pattern similar overlapped with wet dry pattern.

Genesis of coastal dune fields with vegetation
Vegetation greatly affects the formation and dynamics of dune fields in coastal areas. In the present work, we use dune modelling in order to investigate the genesis and early development stages of costal dune fields in the presence of vegetation. The model, which consists of a set of coupled equations for the turbulent wind field over the landscape, the saltation flux and the growth of vegetat...
متن کاملIdentifying spatial and seasonal patterns of river water quality in a semiarid irrigated agricultural Mediterranean basin.
A detailed understanding of the study area is essential to achieve key information and optimize the monitoring, analysis, and evaluation of water quality of natural ecosystems that have been highly transformed into agricultural areas. Using classification techniques like the hierarchical cluster analysis (CA) and partial triadic analysis (PTA), we assessed the sources of water pollution and the...
متن کاملSeasonal distribution of pharmaceuticals in marine water and sediment from a Mediterranean coastal lagoon (SE Spain).
The seasonal variations in the occurrence and distribution of pharmaceuticals were evaluated in seawater and sediment of Mar Menor lagoon from spring 2010 to winter 2011. A total of 20 pharmaceuticals in seawater and 14 in sediments were found at concentrations from low ngL(-)(1) up to 168ngL(-)(1) (azithromycin) in seawater and from low ngg(-1) up to 50.3ngg(-1) (xylazine) in sediments. Azithr...

متن کاملSeasonal patterns in the sunlight sensitivity of bacterioplankton from Mediterranean surface coastal waters.
The sensitivity of coastal marine bacterioplankton to natural photosynthetically active radiation (PAR, 400-700 nm) and ultraviolet radiation (UVR, 280-400 nm) was evaluated in five experiments over a seasonal cycle in the Blanes Bay, NW Mediterranean Sea. Exposure to natural solar radiation generally inhibited bulk bacterial activities or damaged membrane integrity when irradiances were high (...
